Transition Period

IT system Transition Period

First and foremost we would like to thank our members for being so understanding throughout our technical transition period. The staff rigorously tested and trained on the new system for months in the run up to implementation to ensure our high level of service for our members was maintained.  Without doubt the knock-on effect of implementing the new system has lengthened the call times causing delays in having members calls answered.  This is something we anticipated in the preliminary stages and hired temporary staff to help manage the additional workload.

We are trying our best to answer all our member queries promptly and suggest you try our online member area to manage your finances should you wish to take more control of your finances at the click of a button.

Download our 'Login Help Guide' and follow the step-by-step process, ensuring you read all information.
Once you have gained access to the member area, should you have any questions there is a ? button on the top right hand side that provides FAQ answers to help you familiarise yourself with the new member area.

We thank all of our members for their fantastic understanding over this testing time for both staff and members.

Intrepid trio aiming high – very high…

Capital Credit Union Chief Executive, Marlene Shiels, has given herself a mountain to climb – literally!

Together with President Donald Urquhart and Andy Urquhart from the IT department , she will be climbing Africa’s highest mountain in aid of charity. The adventurous threesome are setting off to scale Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania on Valentine’s Day to raise funds for national charity Carr Gomm.

Marlene said: “This is the most insane thing I’ve ever agreed to do, but it is for a fantastic cause. Carr Gomm supports people across Scotland living with a wide range of impairments and disabilities. We’re raising money for their Catch the Dream programme, which provides opportunities for people with disabilities to build their confidence and self-esteem by having new experiences through short breaks and courses.

“I’m sure we’re in for a tough trip but it will be worth it to help support the incredible work carried out by the staff at Carr Gomm.”

The party is aiming to cover the 20,000 feet to the top of Kilimanjaro, the highest free standing mountain in the world, in five days. The fastest ever ascent took just five hours, but the Capital Credit Union team will be taking in the scenery rather than planning an assault on any records!

If you would like to find out more about Carr Gomm then please visit their website. If you would like to make a donation to the charity through the Capital Credit Union team then please donate via one of the below profiles.

ROYAL VISIT FOR CAPITAL CREDIT UNION

ROYAL VISIT FOR CAPITAL CREDIT UNION

The Duchess of Rothesay today (9 May) praised the work being done by Capital Credit Union to increase financial inclusion and money management skills in disadvantaged communities.

The Duchess met staff and members at Capital Credit Union, the first time she has visited a credit union in Scotland, to hear about the work they do. The Duchess said: I did learn a lot today and am fascinated by the credit union movement. It is important to get the message out to people that these organisations are here and I will do my best to help spread the word.

One of those to meet the Royal visitor was Robert McEwan who used Capital Credit Union to help finance his son’s boxing career. Craig McEwan is now a world renowned professional middleweight fighter based in Hollywood, a far cry from his beginnings in Wester Hailes.

Proud Robert told The Duchess about his son's glittering career which has taken him all round the world and which he hopes will end up with a world title.  The 30 year old fighter is currently part of the Golden Boy Promotions stable run by the legendary US boxer Oscar De La Hoya.

Capital Credit Union Chief Executive Marlene Shiels said: “We were delighted that The Duchess came to visit us.  She has a particular interest in the work of credit unions in their communities and the importance of money management and this was a great opportunity for us to showcase the tremendous work that we do in this area.

“Capital Credit Union is the first credit union she has visited in Scotland and we are honoured to have been selected to be part of what is a busy schedule for her during her stay in Scotland.”

As she departed the Royal visitor was given an application form to join Capital Credit Union which she promised to 'study carefully'.
