Tips to stay safe

As your Credit Union, we take your health, wellbeing and financial concerns extremely seriously. Based on the government’s advice regarding the spread of the coronavirus, we have listed our top tips for our members in order to stay safe, protect the NHS and save lives.

1. Stay at home

The most important thing you can do is to stay at home in order to protect the NHS and save lives. As per the government's advice, you should only leave the house for very limited reasons:

  • Shopping for necessities such as food or medicine.
  • One form of exercise a day, for example going for a run, walk, or cycle. Remember to only do this with members of your own household!
  • Any medical needs you have.
  • Travelling to work and back home, only if you cannot work from home.

Remember to maintain social distance - 2m (6ft) apart from anyone else!Green-Disease-Prevention-Web

2. Stop the infection spreading

Help stop the spread of the coronavirus by doing the following:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds multiple times a day.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze.
  • Immediately throw used tissues in the bin and wash your hands afterwards.
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as door handles and taps.
  • Shop responsibly, follow advice in stores and only buy what you need for yourself.
  • If you are wearing a mask, make sure to bin in properly!

3. Know the symptoms

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

  • A high temperature
  • A new, continious cough

If you experience these symptoms, you must stay at home until they have ended and at least for seven days. If you experience these symptoms, seek medical advice, but do not go to a GP, pharmacy or hospital. Rather use the NHS online services for more information.
