Doreen - City of Edinburgh Council

Doreen Copeland is a retired social worker, City of Edinburgh Council.

"It’s really important to me how I’m treated by financial institutions and I always felt Capital Credit Union was very personal in the way it looked after its members. A lot of big organisations cut back on front line staff, but I always knew I could get in touch with a named person at Capital if I needed to and most importantly that they would respond.

I joined Capital in the early 90s so have enjoyed a long association with them. I’m now just a saver, but have had numerous loans from them over the years for all the usual things like cars and holidays.

It was important to me that a credit union has an ethical stance and is not for profit. Added to that their rates are always competitive."
