Civic Reception for Capital Credit Union

On Thursday 27th February, we were marking our 30th anniversary with The Lord Provost of Edinburgh holding a Civic Reception.

About 80 people attended the event at The City of Edinburgh Council City Chambers, including Capital Credit Union staff, members, board members and councillors.

We would like to thank Donald Urquhart, who recently stepped down as President of Capital Credit Union. A Board Director from 1997 to Present, he has contributed significantly to the growth of Capital Credit Union, as well as the national and international credit union movement. Donald held the position of President on two occasions, latterly from 2012 to 2020. He will continue his services as a valued member of the board.

We would further like to thank The Lord Provost of Edinburgh for holding the Civic Reception for us and everyone who attended the event. It has been a pleasure!

Our CEO Marlene said: This is a significant year for CCU on so many levels. As well as celebrating our 30th anniversary with some of our founding members, key stakeholders, board and staff, we are also excited about what the next few years will bring too. CCU has embarked on a very ambitious digital transformation strategy as this is what our members told us they want. Our reception was about celebrating the past, the future and our members. Our sincere thanks go to the Lord Provost for the support and recognition of the credit union as an ethical alternative to mainstream banking which is open to everyone”.
