What a mortgage might look like

Four illustrative scenarios on a £150,000 property over a 25-year term. The deposit you put in changes the loan-to-value (LTV), and that changes the rate available to you.

Common questions

Before you book in

A few things people often want to know before they pick up the phone. If your question isn't here, ask Lauren directly.

No. You're welcome to talk to Lauren before you've joined, and there's no obligation to apply afterwards. If you'd like to take a mortgage with us, you'd join as part of that. Membership eligibility criteria apply.
Nothing. Initial and ongoing mortgage advice is free, whether or not you go on to apply. If you decide to apply, any mortgage or third-party costs (valuation, solicitor) are explained upfront before you commit.
An initial chat is usually around 30 minutes, longer if there's a lot to talk through. Lauren will tell you upfront how much time to set aside, and you can take it in stages if you'd rather.
Nothing formal. A rough idea of your income, the deposit you have or are saving, and what you're hoping to do is enough to get a useful conversation going.
LIFT (Low-cost Initiative for First Time buyers) is a Scottish Government Shared Equity scheme that helps first-time buyers get on the ladder by covering part of the purchase price. Eligibility depends on your circumstances and the property. Lauren can talk you through whether it might suit you.
No. If now isn't the right time, Lauren will say so. If a different lender is a better fit, she'll point you there. We'd rather you came back when it's the right moment than rushed into something that doesn't work for you.

Got a question we haven't covered? Just ask.

Lauren is happy to talk through anything else, in your own time.
